Mouth Guards

At Higgins Dental we allow our patients to select the style and colour of their mouthguard with over 10,000 colour and design options available. Our digital impression allows us to create a replication of your mouth so we can then fabricate a 3-D model and your custom-made mouthguard in house.  This ensures comfort for the patient (no need for runny material or gagging) as well as an efficient turn-around time to get you out playing your sport safely.

A custom-made mouthguard can prevent serious dental injuries and the need for extensive dental treatment. Mouthguards will help absorb the shock from impact to the face and teeth. Custom made mouthguards can protect against serious injuries such as broken jaws, broken or lost teeth and can even protect against concussions. Such injuries can be painful, difficult to treat and can result in a lifetime of expensive dental treatment therefore mouthguards should be worn during all high impact training sessions and sporting games.

 

Custom-made mouthguards are the most protective for the teeth and mouth as they are specially designed to fit the exact contours of your teeth and gums. They are comfortable to wear and allow you to breathe and speak easily. At Higgins Dental we recommend that children’s mouthguards are regularly reviewed for fit and as baby teeth are lost they may need to be adjusted or replaced.
